Jinx
16 in ×20 in, Fine Art, acrylic and oil on the stretched canvas
I recently enjoyed watching the Netflix animated movie Arcane. The animation visuals were stunning, and the characters and story were excellent. The two sisters, Jinx and Vi, in the story were so captivating that I was inspired to create some fan art. Jinx, with her childhood losses and pain, goes through an identity crisis and reminds me of a Joker-like character-unpredictable and making others uncomfortable with her chaotic actions. This movie really made me think about what it means to be a true villain. Jinx seems to play the villain role, but she also looks pitiful and fragile, making it impossible to hate her. In a way, I think she represents people who, though they cause problems, are actually just seeking love and are often marginalized by society. I wanted to create some art for people who love the fascinating Jinx character.
